I guess my work got hammered by that worm last week. So I've been without daytime net access. Now I get an email at work saying they hope to get the problem fixed and access restored by "as early" as October 1. And they say this like they're doing a fantastic job.

Razzafrazzin'..... so, I'll be here only in the evening (US Pacific time) for the near future. Work is intolerable enough with Brunching, CNN, stock quotes, and so on. Without, my transformation to life in a "Dilbert" strip has become complete.

The computer I use at work is a 386, running Windows 95 with no net connection. Thankfully, they're not quite as stingy when it comes to payroll.

Actually, it's one of the best computers I've ever used. It's pretty damn slow, but it hasn't been rebooted since March, when we had our last power outage.

Bet it'll be a little quicker if you do reboot. I'm a big fan of rebooting. I figure what's 2 minutes out of your day. Especially when coming back from sleep takes one minute anyhow.

Go download a few games at home. bring em in, and toss em on the computer. You should be able to get a shitload of games onto floppy. Yup, you could even toss on an NES emulator, and between 4 and 10 games depending on the size of your emulator of choice.
