Well I'm floored. I thought I had heard every masturbation euphemism there is (Every Masturbation Euphemism There Is being my favorite Rick James album). And then my roommate hits me with this.

I'm floored. My entire world has been turned upside-down.

Pete, nothing makes sense anymore....

Rabi'a, that is correct. I'm trying to popularize the term "bashing the balrog" but no one else seems to like it.

No, wait - "turning japanese" was more about the facial expressions that one makes when reaching orgasm, whether masturbating or not.

I don't think that link gets the answer completely right.

I'll never forget the day I went shopping with my 74-yr old mother and a couple of girlfriends. After a few hours oohing and ahing over all the cool antique shops in Ventura, we stopped at a little courtyard cafe for tea, and for whatever reason, my mother asked (as the young, pierced and tattooed waiter approached our table with our orders), what "spanking the pony" meant.

The poor waiter about choked trying to stifle his guffaws, and everyone within earshot went into fits of giggles.

That's my ma, god love her.

LOL, my mom and dad and I went to see Lily Tomlin last year, and at some point she made a joke in which the word "c*nt" held a strategic position. Mom didn't hear what Lily said, and I had to repeat it for her. She asked me what it meant - not having heard me correctly when I had to whisper the word into her ear. Unfortunately, it wasn't exactly a good time to get into etymology, and I wasn't in any fit state to be blunt about it with her. The moment was lost, but lives on in my nightmares ...

I love moms.

Okay, I know that "Blister in the Sun" is supposed to refer to masturbation, but every time I hear the song, I try to fit the lyrics into that meaning and completely fail. Anyone want to give me some help here?

well, there's the "i stain my sheets" thing, which is pretty obvious...
i don't think every bit of the song is masturbation oriented, but i think chorus is, somewhat, too. "big hands, i know you're the one"?

Yeah, there are parts that make sense, but then the rest of it just seems so random.

When my cousin was in elementary school she was in some talent competition where she danced and lip-synced to "Blister In the Sun." Everyone, including my cousin was completely oblivious to the meaning of the song. It's on video somewhere.

Huh. I had been wondering what "Blister In The Sun" was about. But it fits perfectly with the kind of guy Gano is.

One time the radio in Australia did a half-hour segment where people called in to give new euphemisms for masturbation. The only one I remember was "touring Tasmania."

You're just being silly, swook... Pack The Pipe is clearly a weed anthem, down to every last lyric. One of the all time great bass loops, though. Why do weed anthems always have great bass loops?

Anyway. Hands-On Experience by High & Mighty (featuring Kool Keith and some other people) is all about... that.

There's a lot of guitar rock that's all about wanking, but in a slightly different sense.

Jesse--You're right. I had the wrong song. I was thinking "On the DL" off of the same album (2nd verse).

"I let the hand I work the mic with take control."
