Panama Java. They have a drink called a Royale, which is basically the counter guy saying "hey, I got all this stuff back here, why don't we mix it all up and sell it to caffeine-addicted losers who like whipped cream, powdered chocolate, chocolate syrup, a double shot of espresso, steamed milk, and pocket lint mixed together, but always had to make it themselves" The tip jar has a little sign that says "Support Counter-Intelligence", and they have nifty chess sets, on which I am yet to win a game. Plus, the goths, punks, pseudo-goths, gothpunks, happy-goths and punks-ever-since-Hot-Topic-opened-nearby all hang out across the street on Thursdays, and it's fun to watch the LDS guys trying to evangelize them. AParkway Presbyterian My church. It is small and full of old people. Both are characteristics of a modern Presbyterian church. We have a female minister who is really awesome and plays Shadowrun. The Baptists don't believe me when I tell them all this, then they try explaining why she can't be a REAL minister. Screw them. We have exactly one black family at the church. Presbyterians have never had a large minority presence, except in South Korea. I mention this only because some of the older members of my already geriatric-heavy church are quietly nervous around them. It's funny, but also sad in a way. The choir is nice, despite the fact that at least 3/4 of the bass section wears hearing aids (really!). Our new director is awesome! A+ Spinnaker This is a club/restaurant out on the beach. I actually like it better then the nosier Club La Vila. I usually get a kids meal because I'm cheap. So far nobody has ever called me on it. The beach area behind it is beautiful, particularly the famous white sand. B Tyndall Air Force Base I dunno. I was spoiled by the lovely Randolph AFB in San Antonio, which is like paradise, with a Spanish Colonial decorating scheme. Tyndall has a nice little theatre, and an okay-sized exchange, but it lacks character. It does have a place called the Small Arms Training Center, which always prompts me to joke about the little-known Midget Militia and Reserve Program. C La Fiesta A gay bar I once accidentally wandered into after forgetting that the Java was closed on Sundays. I found out my mistake soon after entering. Thankfully nobody saw me and were able to draw unpleasant conclusions. I'm not homophobic, but since I am currently In Need of Girlfriend, and I don't think I'm good looking enough for every chica in town to want to be the one to "turn me straight". Plus the dartboard sucked D, not that there's anything wrong with that
