Joel Robinson

I was first introduced to Mystery Science Theater 3000 back in the ancient days of Comedy Central (you know, back when it actually had COMEDY on it all the time, and said comedy was actually amusing?) I admit I wasn't impressed with it then, but I took a small liking to "that normal guy", Joel Robinson (Hodgson) in that red jumpsuit and sexy monotone voice. So, to the coolest space captive ever (and my first favorite character from the show) I award an A+.

Mike Nelson

Joel's replacement, and a fine one at that. Even though Mike is somewhat dull and not very bright, he's still amusing, and has an irresistable charm that's easy to love. Come on, destroying the Hubble was cute! A-

ROBOT ROLL CALL

Cambot
MST3K in a way is "The Cambot Show" because after all, without him there would be no Mystery Science Theater! We see the show through his eyes after all. Give this cute little bot that's had waaaay too many plastic surgeries a little respect here! B+

Gypsy
She runs the ship. She's had 3 different guys do her voice. She helped Joel escaped. Definitely underestimated; besides.B-

Tom Servo
I don't know what I can say about Tom Servo that is both funny and intelligent-sounding...but... he rocks!! B+

Crow T. Robot

The "golden spider-duck" with the basket on his head is Crow, the KING of smartasses. Wisecrackers never die!!A.

Magic Voice
What happened to her? She was only used like, twice during the SciFi channel era. B

The Nanites
What was the point of these guys anyway? They were just sort of there and not really amusing.I don't have much to say about 'em. D-

Pearl Forrester
Her son Clayton was doing it to Joel and Mike because it was an experiment, but why is Pearl doing it to Mike? What's the point? To continue on her son's work even though she really was a bully to him? For the heck of it? Just to punish Mike? Well, whatever the reason, Pearl is still part of the MST3K family and did have her cool moments. Sonny boy was better at purely-corrupt-but-quite-comedic evil though. C+.

Observer (Brain Guy)
He's not evil, not totally, but Observer is just another sidekick. He may have intelligent powers beyond human intellect, but he's downright dull. Pleh.C

Professor Bobo
Definitely not evil. Just very stupid. He had his moments..but really, I don't have much to say. C

Dr. Forrester
He's the guy who makes evil look fun and easy! And the moral of the story is that one shouldn't resist shooting your employees into space and torture them because of bitter jealousy over who's the better inventor. A

TV's Frank
Frank is my favorite sidekick because he's actually has some visible personality for a second banana! Even after he's gotten his head crushed, his blood replaced with car antifreeze, and other injuries that turns pain into comedy inflicted by Dr. F, he stood by him until his final death. I must also mention that "Nummy Muffin Coolcol Butter" is a classic song. A

Dr. Lawrence Erheardt
Played by Josh Weinstein from KTMA to the first season on the Comedy Channel, Dr. Erheardt is probably the most less-talked about character besides Cambot. I remember seeing one or two rerun season 1 episodes a long time ago, back when everything looked sorta cheap. I can't really give Larry a fair grade because I don't really remember him (except for the fact that he was just like Dr. Forrester, only a bit more dense)B.

I just realized how homoerotic that sounded. I meant pleasing his master in the platonic sense.

File this Larry.

Gerry and Sylvia, the Mole People
You saw them every now and then in older Comedy Central episodes. Really a bunch of interns in gas masks and whatnot. No lines, no nothing, but they helped out Dr. F when Frank was too busy being abused. They also hung out during the Turkey Day marathons. B

Jack Perkins
The genial A&E host showed up quite a few times and blathered on endlessly while the Mads tried to do him in. Later, he hosted the MST3K Hour (the short-lived foray into syndication.) Mike Nelson did a goddamn excellent job as Jack. The Mads couldn't shut him up. Long live the bearded one! A

Timmy
Crow's evil twin! Showed up in only one episode and was disposed of, Aliens style. The silent type, Timmy caused more trouble than he was worth. C

NummyMuffinCoocolButter
Eeeagh! It's the nummiest little thing that's ever been! As Dr. F said, "It outdoes the kitty cat, runs circles around the Easter Bunny, and makes Snuggles the Fabric Softener Bear look like Penn Gillette." But it's pink. And it sheds. And it freaks the bots out. On the other hand, Frank sings to it, and that makes up for everything, doesn't it, you cute widdle NummyMuffinCoocolButter? ("His name's kinda long so you can call him Muffin for short." -- Frank) B

Nuveena
Nuveena! Well, she, uh, dances a lot, and Mike is in love with her (Mike and Bridget, who played Nuveena, are married in whatever form of "real life" you wish to acknowledge.) But on the whole, the joke got kinda stale. C+
