I'm in a bad mood and I'm sharing with all of you lucky people.A rating of my day so far: Waking up - I woke up at 4:00 a.m. to wake up my husband, this takes a good 7 minutes every freaking day (no, alarms don't work for him - he sleeps right through the noise). Then I go back to sleep and wake up at 6:00 or 6:30 a.m. depending on what I have to do that morning. This morning I woke up for good at 6:30 with a cough, a sore throat, and an earache. F Weather - Cloudy (solid grey) and cold cold cold. But no blizzard. C Getting son ready for school - He wouldn't move. Petted the cat when he was supposed to be brushing his teeth, getting dressed and putting his homework his backpack (which he should've done last night, but didn't). It's not that the cat doesn't deserve petting, it's that he had already spent 20 minutes or so petting the cat. Cat petting time was over. But he was in a good mood, not snarky or pouty. C Dropping son and other kid off at school - There's one place I can drop them off right now. Of course that means everybody else is dropping off their kids there too. People, when you have a 100 foot long area to drop off your child you must move away when they are out of the car - don't sit there and watch them walk to the door. There are people outside to herd the kids into the school, it's their job. Move your petedamned car! F Picking up friend at mechanic's garage and taking her to work - She was there and ready when I got there. But her husband should've been the one helping her, he's supposed to off of work right now. B My car - The only good part of this day (3 hours and 20 minutes old) is my car. It handles snowy, slippery, icky streets wonderfully. The seats are heated and comfy. The heater is warm after about 5 block and makes my toes toasty. The most comfortable I've been today has been in my car, I love my car. Thanks guys, I handled yesterday with all the aplomb and maturity I could muster. Yep, spent the day doing laundry and reading "Hogfather" by Terry Pratchett. I feel much better now. *grin* Which is good because we got another 2"-3" of snow last night and the side roads haven't been cleared yet. I want a Camaro Extermination Ray.I spent at least seven hours last night driving around Chicago trying to get places, and I saw four or five of them unable to cope with the snow. Recipe for Traction: Put a huge V8 in front. Give it lots of power. Put nothing whatsoever in the back. Don't forget the rear wheel drive! Useless. RWD rear or mid-engine is a whole different story...it's the only time I ever got to laugh at a Camaro spinning his wheels and leave him in the dust, and me with a burnt-out clutch. Long live the MR2. At least until spring, I hope. IP: Logged |

I like the 'Rate My Day' idea. Waking up- Bad Idea. Overslept, was 15 minutes late for work. However, this meant I got an extra little bit of sleep. B Driving to work- The best part of my day. top-down, crisp, cold air. Hung the tail of the car out around one 130 degree corner. A+++ Finding out I may have to work this weekend- Then again, i may not, either. Depends on if there are any bugs on the Test team's plate. C Lunch- Work provides free food for all of us every day. This in itself is a good thing, but the best part is... today was Beef Stew day! A [This message has been edited by BlackLight Bottlerocket (edited December 14, 2000).] IP: Logged |

Awakened at 4am by police on loudspeaker commanding someone to "Put your hands up and get outta the car NOW! DO IT NOW!! GET OUTTA THE CAR YOU SONUVABITCH!!" : Looked out bedroom window, saw nothing. Looked out living room windows, nada. Noticed blue lights flashing in back of house. Went cautiiously into laundry room, peeked out the window in the door. Saw 8+ police officers clad in riot gear, CARRYING RIFLES, surrounding a car DIRECTLY BEHIND MY HOUSE! (I live in a little house that's right next to a restaurant that is also owned by my landlord. The restaurant's parking lot sort of 'wraps around' my house, and the suspect had driven his car into the parking lot not 25 feet from my back door.) As I watched, the suspect stubbornly refused to get out of his car, and the officers finally rushed the car, dragging the kicking and screaming suspect out onto the pavement. About 6 officers proceeded to beat the dude into submission with their big ol' flashlights, yelling "Get down on the ground! STOP FIGHTING!! GET DOWN ON THE GROUND, FUCKER!!" until he finally stopped struggling enough for them to cuff him. Car was then searched, and 2 officers remained guarding the prisoner. Then the idiot officers moved away from the perp, who then proceeded to try to get up and run. Again several officers jumped on him, with one officer finally sitting on the guy to keep him down. The guy was yelling "Yer killin' me, mon, yer killin' me! I can't breathe!" I suspect he was just making noise in an attempt to get the cop off him, since if he really couldn't breathe, he wouldn't have been able to yell like that. Finally the perp was allowed to sit up, and the paramedics arrived to clean him up. He was a bloody mess. Yuk. I've no idea what he did, but I really wish he hadn't pulled into my parking lot to get arrested And I live in a VERY quiet little suburb of Seattle, too *sigh* F--------Slept for a few more hours: A+ Read the Brunching Board: A++++ Thanx for cheering me up, guys. Weather: It's raining and chilly. C- Late lunch with the Maternal Unit: A It can only go uphill from here. ed. 'cause I was boldly going too far ... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jeanine Blah ...
